My workhorse is the Sony A7III. The reason why I picked this camera is first of all it’s a full frame camera, and second of all it can do both photo and video which is perfect for my type of work. Furthermore, it’s a compact and lightweight camera so it fits perfectly in my tiny hands and I just love the overall aesthetic. On top of all that, Sony has an amazing range of E-mount lenses ranging from 12mm, all the way up to 600mm. Speaking of lenses, the lenses I currently own are the Sony 16-35mm 2.8 GM, the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM and the Sony 85mm 1.8. Right now, I am saving up for the Sony 70-200mm 2.8 GM.
I use the Rode VideoMic Pro+ as a shotgun microphone. It fits right on top of my camera and is great for recording quality audio and ambient sound. I also use the Rode Wireless GO microphone combined with the Rode Lavalier GO. This is great for capturing audio from a distance and when you are constantly on the move like at a wedding for example. That’s why I own two of these systems. A black version and a white one. This way I can record the bride and groom at the same time. You can record the audio of two Rode Wireless GO systems directly into your camera using an audio splitter. I use this one.
